Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active pursuit of an undergraduate degree highly sought
  • Certified flight instructor (CFI) certificate required
  • Ability to schedule and manage multiple students effectively
  • Comply with Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Willingness to work overnight or night flights when necessary
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of operating aircraft safely in various weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Certified flight instructor (CFI) required
  • Certified instrument flight instructor (CFII) preferred
  • Multi-engine instructor (MEI) preferred
  • FAA Class III medical certificate required
  • FAA Class II medical certificate preferred
  • Experience in flight instruction and training student pilots
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Ability to prepare instructional materials and conduct lectures
  • Proficient in using flight simulators and synthetic trainers
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Schedule and coordinate flight training with students ensuring minimum appropriate progress rates
  • Manage and schedule assigned students' flight and ground instruction
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation
  • Deliver high-quality flight instruction adhering to school and federal regulations
  • Attend mandatory training and perform Solo Monitor duties as required
  • Prepare course materials and lecture on aviation topics
  • Use synthetic trainers to demonstrate aircraft operation and flight techniques
  • Observe and evaluate student performance during training
  • Administer tests and interviews to assess student progress
  • Complete weekly schedules and daily progress reports
  • Prepare students for flight evaluations with effective training and feedback
  • Manage student scheduling and progress reporting efficiently
  • Limit flight instruction to a maximum of 8 hours daily
  • Log administrative time covering various non-flight tasks as per policy
