Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education job related experience
  • FAA certified flight instructor license
  • must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
  • valid driver's license
  • ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting
  • able to administer flight instructions
  • able to lift up to 45 lbs
  • successful completion of background check
  • successful driver's license check

  • knowledge of FAA regulations
  • experience with flight training operations

Job Duties

  • Administers FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students
  • performs check rides in accordance with FAA prescribed guidelines
  • instructs ground school if required
  • administers FAA required ground tests
  • schedules training, stage checks and check rides
  • performs FAST flights for faculty and staff transportation
  • assists in promoting the Department of Aviation
  • develops new courses and syllabi
  • helps with preventive maintenance of university fleet aircraft
  • performs dispatching duties for daily flight operations
