Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and job related experience
  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
  • Must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to administer flight instruction
  • Lift up to 45 lbs

  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting

Job Duties

  • Administers FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students
  • Performs check rides IAW FAA prescribed guidelines
  • Instructs ground school if required
  • Administers FAA required ground tests
  • Schedules training, stage checks and check rides
  • Performs FAST flights (faculty and staff transportation)
  • Assists in promoting the Department of Aviation
  • Develops new courses and syllabi
  • Helps with preventive maintenance of OU fleet aircraft
  • Performs dispatching duties for daily flight operations
