Job Requirements

  • greater than 1000 hours asel and 500 hours instruction given
  • master’s degree
  • airframe and powerplant mechanic (a&p certification)
  • experience supervising, encouraging, motivating and assessing students

Job Qualifications

  • faa approved flight instructor (cfi) airplane single engine land (asel)
  • certified flight instructor – instrument airplane (cfii) prior to teaching instrument and commercial curriculums
  • certified flight instructor multi-engine land (mei) prior to instructing multi-engine curriculum
  • current faa second class medical certificate
  • knowledge and unreserved commitment to Mbi’s mission and doctrinal statement
  • authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Job Duties

  • model a high level of aviation professionalism, integrity and servanthood to staff and students while exercising conservative judgment and safety awareness
  • model and abide by the 14 Code of Federal Regulations and Moody Operations Manual
  • follow and reinforce standardized practices and procedures established by Moody Aviation 141 flight school
  • serve as a team player
  • provide professional ground and flight instruction in assigned course offerings
  • assure students are prepared in knowledge, skill and attributes of a professional airman and representative of Christ
  • conduct pre and post flight briefing and critique sessions with students
  • accomplish monthly assigned pilot proficiency flights and maintain necessary skill to mentor students
  • maintain high standards in flight school documents including student training records, flight operation records, logbooks, and finance reports
  • maintain order, cleanliness and security of work area and equipment
  • participate in departmental meetings
  • provide feedback for development and update of flight and ground school curriculum
  • prepare, revise and update course materials for ground schools
  • serve as Dispatch Supervisor and assist with flight scheduling as assigned
  • perform other special duties as assigned
