Job Requirements

  • FAA commercial pilot certificate with single engine rating
  • FAA flight instructor certificate
  • hold a current 2nd class medical
  • must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing
  • experience with standardization training
  • ability to maintain flight proficiency
  • adherence to FAA regulations and departmental policies
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to meet with and instruct students
  • capability to complete flight lessons and documentation
  • physically able to move aircraft in and out of hangar and work in all weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • FAA flight instructor certificates including CFI, CFII and MEI preferred
  • FAA commercial pilot certificate with single and multi-engine preferred
  • current 2nd class medical certificate
  • must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing
  • knowledge of instructor certification
  • knowledge of various flight instruction, instrumentation and equipment
  • experience with Garmin G1000
  • good interpersonal and human relations skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to instruct, teach, and tutor
  • analytical approach to problem solving and decision making
  • logical and methodical reasoning
  • ability to perform under stressful circumstances
  • attentiveness to detail

Job Duties

  • Participates in standardization training for each course and equipment used in instruction
  • maintains flight proficiency for each course instructed
  • adheres to all FAA regulations and departmental policies and procedures
  • researches new and improved teaching techniques
  • meets with each student as scheduled
  • ensures flight lessons are completed according to training course outline specifications
  • ensures all appropriate endorsements are made in student flight books and personal logbooks
  • submits requests for stage checks upon completion of each stage of flight training with Office Supervisor
  • ensures all flight lessons and flight books are completed before stage check requests
  • ensures all training activities, flights, and briefings are conducted during normal business hours
  • pulls aircraft in/out of hangar
  • assists in tying down aircraft and fueling
  • assists in departmental activities
  • attends meetings
  • performs other duties as assigned
