Job Requirements
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate
- valid medical certificate
- ability to perform flight training in single engine aircraft
- CFII rating required for Level II instructors at time of hire or earned while employed
- bachelor's degree preferred
- knowledge of FAA regulations
- excellent communication skills
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to maintain flight proficiency
- ability to adhere to departmental policies
Job Qualifications

- CFII/MEI certificate preferred

- knowledge of flight instruction instrumentation and equipment

Job Duties
- Participates in standardization training for each course taught and equipment used
- maintains flight proficiency for each course instructed
- adheres to FAA regulations and departmental policies and procedures
- researches new and improved teaching techniques
- meets with each student as scheduled
- ensures flight lessons are completed according to Training Course Outline specifications
- ensures all appropriate endorsements are made in student flight and personal logbooks
- submits requests for stage checks upon completion of each flight training stage with Office Supervisor
- ensures all flight lessons and flight books are completed before stage check requests
- ensures all training activities, flights, and briefings are conducted during normal business hours
- pulls aircraft in/out of hangar
- helps in tying down aircraft
- assists in departmental activities
- attends meetings
- performs other assigned duties
