Job Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a licensed EMT
  • One year of experience driving ambulance or other emergency vehicle
  • Two years as a licensed driver
  • Familiarity with local region
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current Colorado State EMT certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • IV certification
  • Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVOC or CVEO)
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification
  • Ability to work variable shifts

Job Duties

  • Operate the Flight For Life ground ambulances in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and daily readiness of vehicles
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the ambulances
  • Provide patient care within the ALS/BLS program and the BLS scope of care
  • Offer clinical assistance to other team members, Emergency Departments, and the Business Office within the EMT role scope
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams and patients
