Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Obtain Med Trans Corp. Part 135 certification within six months of hire
  • Obtain AHA CPR certification within first year for Western Region employees
  • Flight-following certification through IAMTCS within first year
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of Word, Access, and Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function calmly in high-pressure situations
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Med Trans Corp. Part 135 certification within six months of hire
  • AHA CPR certification within one year of hire
  • Flight-following certification through IAMTCS within one year of hire
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Word, Access and Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to function calmly under pressure and multitask effectively
  • Previous air medical communications experience preferred
  • Current EMT-B certification or higher preferred
  • Experience with medical terminology or EMS operations preferred

Job Duties

  • Activate and follow flight and ground teams during missions including flight following, customer notification and documentation
  • Triages and performs critical tasks in a stressful emergency environment calmly and timely
  • Establish proficiency with Incident Command Systems, Emergency Operations Centers, Multiple Casualty Incidents, aircraft incident, Hazmat and Disaster plans
  • Coordinate medical transport details working with aviation, medical and communications departments along with requesting agency
  • Accurately input all flight and ground transport information into network database in compliance with FAA Part 135 and NCME policies
  • Maintain positive relationships with referring and receiving facilities and pre-hospital agencies for safe and coordinated response
  • Implement proper procedures for notification of administration or appropriate agencies in emergency situations
