Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or education equivalent
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- 1 year of airline operations experience
- must be able to work any shift/any day including holidays
- must pass DOT background and DOT drug screen
- must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
- reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or education equivalent
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- 1 year of Airline Operations experience
- legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- reliable and punctual attendance
- ability to work any shift including holidays
- preferred bachelor's degree
- at least 1 year of FAR Part 121 Dispatch or closely relevant experience
- international dispatch experience
- experience as a dispatcher for another airline
Job Duties
- Prepare the flight release
- monitor flight progress
- analyze and disseminate meteorological information
- review maintenance limitations
- calculate the amount of fuel required for safe flight
- update the pilot in command of significant changes to the flight plan
- provide assistance during irregular and emergency situations
- maintain qualification and competency in accordance with FAA and UAL requirements
- interact with other United Airlines departments including Maintenance Control, Operations Planning and Meteorology
