Job Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in aviation related field
- pilot certificate with instrument rating or air traffic control background
- complete 40 hours of classroom training and successful ground school completion
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate or ATP
- one year or more experience with large aircraft dispatch using computerized flight planning software
- strong oral and written communication skills
- proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint
- ability to work various hours including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
- must be able to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- ability to function in a high stress environment
- strong math skills
- knowledge or ability to learn Alaska geography and ICAO airport identifiers
- self-starter with initiative
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in an aviation-related field
- pilot certificate with instrument rating or air traffic control background
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate or Air Transport Pilot (ATP) license
- at least one year of experience with large aircraft dispatch including use of computerized flight planning software
- proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Email, and PowerPoint
- strong oral and written communication skills

Job Duties
- Exercise operational control authority in conjunction with the pilot in command for safe and efficient flight operations
- understand and apply company procedures, limitations, and directives related to 14 CFR Part 121 and company Operation Specifications
- review, analyze, and monitor weather conditions including NOTAMs, PIREPs, TFRs, and runway conditions
- produce computerized flight plans using MS Excel and Navblue Flight Planning software for company aircraft
- communicate effectively using telephone, company radio networks, email, and ARINC
- monitor flight progress and report any overdue aircraft immediately
- update SkedFlex operations software with flight and crew schedules
- provide pilots with all relevant information for safe flight conduct
- determine maintenance status and capabilities of aircraft including weight and balance, runway analysis, and aircraft performance information
- respond to service interruptions with appropriate recommendations
- manage and coordinate daily flight schedules and real-time operational decisions
- monitor flight crewmember scheduling in compliance with 14 CFR Part 117 and 121
- select, schedule, and notify crewmembers
- assist with crewmember travel and hotel arrangements as necessary
- accurately report crewmember flight times to payroll
- initiate emergency response procedures as needed
- provide excellent customer service
- perform other duties as assigned
