Job Requirements
- must be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
- must be available to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
- must pass pre-employment drug screen in accordance with FAA regulations
- must be able to lift supplies up to 25 pounds
- must work indoors
- must adhere to UPS and FAA safety and operational policies
Job Qualifications
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- minimum of 4 years domestic flight dispatch experience or minimum of two years international flight dispatch experience
- knowledge of Part 135, 119, or 121 air carrier operations
- preferred college degree
- ability to speak a second language is ideal
- strong interpersonal skills including leadership, decision making, organization, attention to detail, and stress management
- team player with self-direction and initiative
Job Duties
- possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and be authorized by UPS to exercise full operational control over any flight
- remain on duty during planning and operation of all flights and exercise complete operational control authority over assigned flights
- assume responsibility for preflight planning, issuance of dispatch releases, monitor flight progress, and provide latest flight information ensuring safe and economical flight operations
- assume joint responsibility with each Captain for flight safety according to FAA regulations and FOM Vol02
- assume responsibility for company compliance with FAA regulations and policies related to flight dispatch
