Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current paramedic licensure in Florida
- valid basic and advanced life support certifications
- proof of critical care paramedic certification
- minimum three years paramedic experience in an EMS system
- ability to respond to call within 45 minutes
- proficiency in patient assessment and emergency interventions
- ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- compliance with safety and infection control standards
- ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
- current passport
- maintain physical fitness to perform duties
- proficient with medical and aviation equipment
- willingness to complete ongoing training and certification requirements
Job Qualifications
- Certification as critical care paramedic through FP-C, CCEMT-P, approved critical care course, or Military Advanced Tactical Practitioner
- three to four years of related EMS experience
- current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and PHTLS certifications
- completion of a DOT-approved flight physiology course
- Florida State paramedic license
- valid passport
- strong charting and documentation skills
- excellent written and oral communication abilities
- competent in Microsoft Suite
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments
- commitment to professional standards and excellence
- analytical and problem-solving skills
- adaptability to changing priorities
- bilingual skills considered a plus
Job Duties
- Evaluate and coordinate medical care during patient transport
- perform pre-flight checklists and equipment inventory
- conduct complete head-to-toe patient assessments
- monitor and document patient condition continuously
- ensure compliance with patient documentation requirements including passports and medical records
- communicate patient status and transport updates with the transport team and Flight Coordinators
- assist in patient transfer to and from the aircraft
- mentor and orient new flight crew members
- comply with universal precautions and infection control policies
- complete post-flight equipment restocking and debriefings
- report quality and safety issues as needed
- maintain currency of required certifications and complete ongoing training
- adhere to dress code and organizational policies
- provide availability for scheduling and maintain call status
- perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
