Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skilled in reading and writing English
  • Ability to communicate clearly on radio and telephone
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately
  • Ability to efficiently utilize assigned equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good typing skills with speed and accuracy to process calls
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications
  • Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience or one year experience as EMS or public safety dispatcher preferred

Job Duties

  • Respond to customer needs accordingly
  • Understand medical terminology and implement critical listening skills to accurately process air transport requests
  • Allocate air resources properly by applying decision-making rules and approved protocols
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of paperwork prior to shift completion
  • Perform accurate and complete data entry for the shift
  • Generate applicable reports and check for accuracy
  • Assist in locating incident scenes and selecting the safest, fastest routes
  • Relay instructions from supervisors, messages, and emergency information
  • Maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and memorandums
  • Follow established parameters and formats for receiving service requests
  • Use equipment including computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, telephones, and other assigned tools
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain competency through continuing education, conferences, and seminars
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and commitment to interpersonal service
  • Comply with information systems security policies
  • Maintain all department required certifications and participate in quality improvement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
