Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skilled in reading and writing English
  • Ability to communicate clearly on radio and telephone
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately
  • Ability to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good typing skills with speed and accuracy
  • Understanding of basic computer applications
  • Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience or have at least one year's experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher

  • Preferred at least one year experience as EMS or public safety dispatcher

Job Duties

  • Respond to customer needs accordingly
  • Understand medical terminology and implement critical listening skills to accurately process air transport requests
  • Allocate air resources properly by applying decision-making rules and approved protocols
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of paperwork prior to shift completion
  • Enter data accurately and completely for the shift
  • Generate reports and verify accuracy
  • Assist in locating incident scenes and select safest, fastest routes using locator aids
  • Relay instructions from supervisors, messages, and emergency information
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Follow established formats for receiving service requests
  • Use equipment including computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, telephones, and others assigned
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain competency and professional growth through education, conferences, and seminars
  • Maintain positive behaviors and commitment to interpersonal service
  • Comply with information systems security policies
  • Maintain required certifications and attend department meetings and trainings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
