Job Requirements

  • Must reside in Alaska
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Skilled in reading and writing English
  • Ability to operate required equipment proficiently
  • Ability to work multiple tasks at once
  • Must have good typing skills and accuracy
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications
  • Preferred experience as EMS or public safety dispatcher
  • Must maintain required certifications and training
  • Adhere to company policies and security procedures
  • Must be available for full-time work

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Skilled in reading and writing English
  • Ability to communicate clearly on radio and telephone
  • Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately
  • Proficient in using all assigned equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good typing skills with speed and accuracy
  • Understanding of basic computer applications
  • Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience preferred
  • At least one year's experience as EMS or public safety dispatcher preferred

Job Duties

  • Respond to customer needs accordingly
  • Understand medical terminology and implement critical listening skills to process air transport requests accurately
  • Allocate air resources properly by applying decision-making rules and approved protocols
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of paperwork prior to shift completion
  • Perform accurate and complete data entry for the shift
  • Generate applicable reports and check for accuracy
  • Assist in locating scenes of incidents and selecting the safest, fastest routes using locator aids
  • Relay instructions from supervisors, messages, and emergency information
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and memorandums
  • Follow established parameters and formats in receiving service requests
  • Use equipment including computer, printers, 911 equipment, recording devices, telephones, and other assigned devices
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education, conferences, and seminars
  • Demonstrate positive behaviors and interpersonal service commitment
  • Comply with information systems security policies
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in quality improvement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
