Job Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older at time of application
  • High school graduate or GED
  • At least one year of customer service experience in service industries such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, aviation, or social services
  • Ability to speak clearly, loudly, and in an organized manner
  • Proficiency in English and ability to read, write, and speak
  • Must speak Italian fluently
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
  • Effective communication during high-stress situations such as evacuations and medical emergencies
  • Professional appearance with adherence to uniform, tattoo, and grooming guidelines
  • Ability to operate phones, tablets, and laptops
  • Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months validity
  • Ability to travel without restrictions
  • Physical ability to lift and reach as required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules 24/7 including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to pass functional reach assessment
  • Must be able to sit in jump seat with safety restraints
  • Required to serve and sell food and beverages including alcohol
  • Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, background check, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests
  • Prohibited from using medical or recreational marijuana
  • Must pass criminal background check for last 10 years
  • Meet FAA hearing and vision standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Two or more years of college preferred
  • At least one year of customer service experience in service industries such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, aviation, or social services
  • Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard in emergencies
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Must be able to read and speak Italian fluently
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards
  • Ability to operate electronic devices proficiently
  • Valid passport with at least 18 months remaining before expiration
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions
  • Ability to pass FAA hearing and vision requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

  • Ensure the highest levels of safety onboard the aircraft
  • Adapt and respond to various customer-facing scenarios with optimism and positivity
  • Engage directly with customers using outstanding interpersonal skills and good judgment
  • Resolve customer issues with understanding, compassion, and grace
  • Represent United Airlines with pride and professionalism
  • Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and travel away from base for extended periods
