Job Requirements
- must be 21 years of age or older at time of application
- high school graduate or GED
- 2 or more years of college preferred
- at least one year customer service experience in retail, hospitality, food, teaching, education, aviation, or social service industries
- ability to speak clearly and loudly in emergencies
- fluent in English
- ability to communicate effectively in high-stress situations
- professional appearance with grooming and uniform compliance
- no visible tattoos larger than employee badge or offensive
- able to operate phones, tablets, laptops
- possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport with at least 18 months validity
- ability to travel to all countries served by United without restrictions
- physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stretch, lift heavy objects, and push carts
- ability to pass a functional reach assessment
- able to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt
- required to sell and serve food and beverages including alcohol
- legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- able to complete evacuation drill in water
- pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests
- pass DOT/FAA drug screening
- pass 10-year criminal background check
- meet FAA and United hearing and vision requirements
