Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or older at time of application
- High school graduate or GED
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry
- Must be able to speak clearly and loudly
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound
- Ability to effectively communicate in high-stress situations
- Professional appearance and grooming standards and adherence to uniform guidelines
- Ability to operate electronic devices
- Must possess a valid passport with 18 months validity remaining
- Ability to travel without restrictions to all countries United serves
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects up to 250 lbs, and push and pull beverage carts
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
- Required to serve and/or sell food and beverages including alcohol professionally
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must successfully complete DOT drug screens, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests
- Must pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history
- Must meet FAA and United vision and hearing standards
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- 2 or more years of college preferred
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry such as retail, hospitality, food, teaching, education, aviation, social service
- Ability to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner loudly enough to be heard in emergencies
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Professional appearance and grooming standards
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices
- Valid passport with 18 months remaining before expiry prior to application
- Ability to travel to all countries served by United without restrictions
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules
