Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and dependability
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Willing to be assigned to any Mesa Airlines crew base upon training completion
- Willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Height between 4'11'' and 6' without shoes, able to reach overhead bins and galley compartments
- Ability to perform all safety-related procedures including operating aircraft doors and lifting emergency window exits
- Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times
- Ability to sit in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification and walk comfortably down the aisle
- Minimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrected
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Possess and maintain a valid passport
- Legal ability to travel unrestricted to all countries served by Mesa Airlines
- Must successfully complete background investigation including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history
- Pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug, alcohol, and random screening including screening for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamine
- Awareness that DOT prohibits medical marijuana for safety-sensitive employees
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- College credits or a minimum of two years of customer service experience is preferred
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and dependability
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Ability to operate emergency equipment and perform safety-related tasks
- Possess and maintain valid passport
- Legal ability to travel unrestricted to countries served by Mesa Airlines
- Authorization to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Provide constant attention to customers to ensure a safe and reliable onboard experience
- Greet passengers, monitor carry-on baggage, and direct passengers to assigned seats
- Remain positive, respectful, and understanding during challenging situations and passenger conflicts
- Maintain physical health and professional appearance standards
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and the ability to operate all emergency equipment onboard the aircraft
- Explain the use of safety equipment to passengers clearly and concisely
- Serve beverages, snacks, and meals where applicable
- Assist passengers in storing carry-on luggage in overhead or under-seat storage
- Inform passengers of Federal Aviation Regulations
- Perform duties required to assist with inflight medical emergencies and special needs passengers such as unaccompanied minors, visually or hearing impaired, language impaired, elderly, and physically challenged
- Abide by policies outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards
