Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of ALS or CCT ambulance experience
- At least 1 year of ground CCT or flight experience
- Current Illinois Paramedic License or National Registry Paramedic eligible for Illinois licensure
- Current Critical Care Paramedic certification or documented completion of an 80-hour CCP course with CCP-C or FP-C board certification
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Trauma (PHTLS, ITLS, TPATC) certification
- Must meet physical requirements of working on a helicopter including the ability to work in confined spaces, independently load a stretcher/isolette, and maintain a duty weight of 220 lbs or less in uniform
Job Qualifications
- At least 3 years of ALS or CCT ambulance experience
- At least 1 year of ground CCT or flight experience
- Current Illinois Paramedic License or National Registry Paramedic eligible for Illinois licensure
- Current Critical Care Paramedic certification or documented completion of an 80-hour CCP course with CCP-C or FP-C certification
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Trauma certifications (PHTLS, ITLS, TPATC)
- Ability to meet physical requirements of helicopter work including confined space operation and lifting
- Desired: 5 years of ALS or CCT experience including 911 experience
- Board certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) or Flight Paramedic (FP-C)
- NRP, TPATC, FEMA certifications (100, 200, 700, 800, HazMat)
- National Registry Paramedic certification
- Leadership experience
- Associates or Bachelors degree
Job Duties
- Provide high quality care to patients in the transport environment under medical direction
- Autonomously evaluate critically ill or injured patients of all age groups and provide therapeutic intervention and emergency care
- Maintain clinical proficiency across critical care scope including neurological, cardiac, pediatric, obstetrical, and traumatic emergencies
- Maintain clinical competency with critical care procedures and equipment such as ventilators, IV pumps, dopplers, chest tubes, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Demonstrate effective, professional communication with patients, families, hospital staff, and colleagues
- Participate in initial and recurrent training, peer quality assurance, and continuing education
- Operate transport vehicles including ambulances, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft safely and efficiently
