Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged
- two years experience in event management or related professional area
- alternatively, two-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major with no experience required
- ability to manage multiple events of average to large size
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience in customer service
- leadership and team management skills
- proficiency in event planning and coordination
- ability to travel as necessary
- judgment to integrate current trends in event management
Job Duties
- prepares event documentation and coordinates with sales and property departments
- manages event logistics to ensure seamless event progression
- greets customers during event phases and coordinates hand-off to event operations team
- manages group room blocks and meeting spaces
- identifies and resolves operational challenges
- leads pre-event and post-event meetings
- acts as liaison between field salesperson and customer
- participates in customer site inspections
- assists with sales and revenue forecasting
- up-sells products and services
- reviews billing accuracy with clients
- delivers and encourages excellent customer service
- handles guest complaints and problems
- oversees customer experience from file turnover to post-event
- solicits feedback to improve event planning experience
- conducts human resources activities like reviewing guest satisfaction and providing employee feedback
- supports corrective action plans to improve service
- coordinates event details verbally and in writing
