Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of guest service etiquette and proper food and beverage serving techniques in compliance with company standards
  • Ability to perform all tasks related to restaurant server and proficiently use job-related software and property management systems
  • Knowledge of cocktails and proper cocktail mixing techniques
  • Knowledge of wine, beer and all other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Knowledge of food and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to remain calm in various situations, use sound judgement and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to work quickly, prioritize, and maintain service at multiple tables at a time
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals
  • Ability to demonstrate cash handling procedures and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, upgrades and percentages
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials
  • Take guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system
  • Retrieve and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service
  • Serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Ensure serving station is well-stocked at all times
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks
  • Process cash and credit card payments
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership
