Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum eight years safety management experience
- Two years specialized commercial transportation experience
- Advanced knowledge of commercial motor vehicle safety principles
- Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Professional transportation safety certification
- CDL experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel up to 50 percent
- Leadership skills
- Ability to operate within matrix organization
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of eight years of progressive safety management experience including two years of specialized commercial transportation work
- Advanced knowledge of commercial motor vehicle accident and injury prevention principles and techniques
- In-depth understanding of DOT and OSHA regulatory compliance
- Professional transportation safety certification such as CDS
- CDL experience
- Extensive knowledge in fleet safety, accident and injury prevention, and regulatory compliance expertise
- Proficient written, verbal and email communication skills
- Skilled in report and presentation development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Strong analytical and independent decision-making skills
- Ability to use online systems and databases
- Leadership ability to work with operations management and communicate across all levels
- Capability to function and lead within a matrix organization
Job Duties
- Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
- Develop procedures for and manage fleet accident and injury prevention activities
- Develop regional accident and injury prevention programs through use of trends identified in accident reports and historical analysis
- Monitor reports of accidents and injuries
- Ensure regulatory and policy compliance
- Maintain risk analysis program
- Participate in investigation of serious accidents
- Provide technical guidance, expertise and assistance to on-site personnel
- Build system safety awareness and orientation throughout the company
- Perform related organizational development activities
- Develop procedures for special projects and maintain related records
- Other duties as assigned
