Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Three years of experience in an automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair setting including parts identification, receiving, stocking, issuing and maintaining inventory records
- Working knowledge of automotive, heavy duty and other mechanical equipment
- Valid driver’s license at the time of application
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts and dollies safely
- Ability to utilize multiple software systems including MS Office, Outlook and inventory management tools
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to participate in mandatory snow removal duties
- Ability to work extended hours and alternative shifts as required
- Commitment to a customer-first approach and teamwork
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and customers
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Three years of experience in an automotive or heavy-duty equipment repair setting including parts identification, receiving, stocking, issuing and maintaining inventory records
- Working knowledge of automotive, heavy duty and other mechanical equipment
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and dollies safely
- Familiarity with inventory management systems such as AssetWorks or similar tools
- Ability to utilize multiple systems to complete tasks and reports including MS Office, Outlook, Adobe, web based and paper/PDF catalogs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with a commitment to teamwork and excellence able to work with limited supervision
- Proven experience in automotive or heavy equipment parts distribution or installation
- Ability and adaptability to meet customer needs with professionalism and urgency
Job Duties
- Act as the primary point of contact for fleet technicians, safety technicians, or DOTI field operations providing prompt and professional assistance for parts, PPE, supplies, requests and inquiries
- Deliver clear and consistent communication to customers regarding parts availability, ETAs, and reason for delay
- Prioritize a customer-first approach when researching and ordering parts to ensure fleet operations run smoothly
- Clean and organize the parts room to create a welcoming efficient space for team members, as well as promoting a safe and healthy workplace
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and team members to ensure effective parts procurement and issue resolution
- Research and fulfill open parts requests promptly, ensuring action comments are accurate and up to date
- Run and update reports for late or unreceived parts, following up with vendors to keep customers informed
- Receive and verify deliveries from vendors
- Complete perpetual inventory counts as parts are issued as well as assist in the completion of a yearly inventory
- Process parts, PPE, or supply requests on a first-in, first-out basis including any pending from previous shifts, to minimize downtime for fleet operations
- Provide a detailed end-of-shift email turnover, ensuring smooth communication with the location team and supervisor
- Reconcile purchasing card transactions and address monthly corrections as assigned by the supervisor
