Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two to five years related experience and/or training
- Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- Commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
- Fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate
- Ability to maintain weight not exceeding 250 pounds and age less than 70 years
- Must have flown in category within previous 24 months
- Ability to maintain regular scheduled attendance on 7/7 schedule with 12 hour shifts
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two to five years related experience and/or training
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category meets instrument requirement
- Fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- Commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
- First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required
- Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public
- Pilots must have flown in category within previous 24 months
- 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 flight hours in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours cross-country flight time including at least 50 hours at night
- 500 hours turbine flight
- 100 hours night flight time
- 100 hours flight in actual instrument conditions in category
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Completes pre-flight before every flight verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition by sign off of Daily Flight Log
- Performs a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit and upon completion of each flight
- Holds final authority regarding aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment
- Maintains thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems and ensures medical flight team is comfortable with the medical interior
- Completes required documentation diligently
- Conducts detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards
- Participates regularly in company meetings, activities, projects, committees and community outreach
- Performs other duties as assigned
