Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • two to five years related experience and/or training
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • maintain weight not exceeding 250 pounds
  • be less than 70 years old
  • 2500 total flight hours including 2000 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time including 50 hours at night
  • 500 turbine hours
  • 100 hours night flight time
  • 100 hours actual instrument flight time
  • instrument rating for aircraft category
  • fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • commercial single-engine land rating
  • FAA first or second class medical certificate
  • ability to perform pre-flight checks and flight planning
  • maintain regular scheduled attendance on 7/7 schedule
  • participate in company activities and outreach

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years of related experience and/or training
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and EMS representatives
  • have flown in category within the previous 24 months
  • 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 cross-country flight hours including 50 at night
  • 500 hours turbine experience
  • 100 hours night flight time
  • 100 hours actual instrument flight time in category
  • instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight checks verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • maintain final authority for aircraft operation and safety of passengers and cargo
  • be familiar with aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft
  • complete required flight documentation
  • conduct detailed flight planning under short notice
  • participate in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
  • perform other duties as assigned
