Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
  • at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift 40 pounds
  • able to work in standing position for long periods of time up to 9 hours
  • able to maintain personal cleanliness
  • able to work efficiently and quickly
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • basic understanding of or ability to learn sanitation and workplace safety regulations
  • must be able to work well as part of a team

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats, making soups or salads, dips, and charcuterie
  • perform general cleaning activities in kitchen and dining areas
  • restock kitchen supplies, rotate food, and stamp the time and date on food in coolers
  • grill, cook, and fry foods such as fries, eggs, and pancakes
  • grill and garnish hamburgers or other meats such as steaks and chops
  • prepare a variety of food items for cooking in griddles, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
  • assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
  • comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
  • close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • assist others in closing the kitchen
  • attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
  • perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
