Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Nationally recognized group fitness certification or equivalent with Group Fitness Supervisor approval
- Current CPR certification required from AHA
- One year of certification-based experience or ongoing mentorship with group fitness supervisor preferred
- Ability to demonstrate and lead exercise movements
- Completion of mandatory hospital and departmental training
- Ability to work in wellness center and gym environments
- Ability to utilize precautions against infectious diseases
- Physical ability to lift 25-60 pounds and perform various physical movements
- Verbal communication skills for in-person and remote communication
- Ability to maintain calm under stress
- Ability to prioritize and organize job tasks effectively
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Nationally recognized group fitness certification or equivalent with Group Fitness Supervisor approval
- Current CPR certification from AHA
- Ability to demonstrate and lead exercise movements in front of a class
- Completion of mandatory hospital and departmental training
- Experience coaching or instructing group fitness classes preferred
Job Duties
- Operate stereo and microphone system appropriately
- Communicate regularly with group fitness coordinator via email and other platforms
- Lead and grow participation in group fitness classes as directed
- Manage movement techniques and safety during classes
- Comply with certification requirements for teaching and class design
- Create a positive experience through effective programming and instruction
- Submit monthly volume and class reports as required
- Recommend equipment based on class needs
- Actively recruit new members for classes and membership
- Participate in group fitness meetings and feedback sessions
- Use GroupExPro or updated systems for class management
- Maintain certifications and complete annual continuing education
