Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 17 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Six months to one year experience in receptionist or customer service role preferred
  • Certification in CPR within three months of employment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours
  • Ability to operate computer systems and cash drawer
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability and stamina to perform essential functions including light cleaning and maintenance
  • Commitment to organizational policies and attendance at meetings
  • Available to work overtime and additional shifts as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Six months to one year experience as a receptionist, front desk attendant, or in a customer service role is preferred
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with diverse groups
  • Certification in CPR or willingness to be certified within three months of employment
  • Proficient phone skills according to Beacon's telephone usage standards
  • Ability to operate an electronic computer cash drawer and balance it on a shift basis
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and extended hours
  • Personal commitment to positive fitness and health practices presenting a fit and healthy lifestyle

Job Duties

  • Perform receptionist duties including greeting members and guests, receiving membership cards, and logging information into the computer system
  • Answer client questions and inquiries regarding BHF operations and club policies
  • Follow emergency procedures as outlined in the operations manual
  • Schedule and process massage appointments and special events using club computer systems
  • Apply and enforce BHF rules and regulations as directed
  • Receive and address complaints, comments, and suggestions from clients following BHF's Member Experience Vision
  • Maintain adequate supplies such as cups, towels, toiletries, forms, brochures, schedules, snack items, pro-shop items, and computer supplies
  • Perform regularly scheduled light cleaning and maintenance duties including vacuuming, dusting, collecting towels, glass cleaning, wiping sinks and countertops, refilling amenities, and general cleanup
  • Fold and maintain towel supplies in locker rooms and prepare soiled towel carts for pick-up
  • Process sales and balance the cash drawer on a shift basis
  • Monitor inventory of snack bar and pro-shop items on a shift basis
  • Communicate effectively with members and guests providing assistance with patience and professionalism
  • Assist with facility tours explaining club pricing and enrollment
  • Explain programs and services offered and complete registrations
  • Assist with babysitting, after hours, or membership duties as needed
  • Assist with production of newsletters, mailings, and member surveys
  • Complete other job-related duties and projects as assigned
  • Attend and participate in department meetings
  • Complete mandatory education, annual competencies, and employee health requirements in a timely manner
  • Maintain license, certification, or registration in good standing
  • Utilize universal precautions and protective equipment appropriately
  • Adhere to regulatory agency requirements and compliance
  • Comply with organizational and department policies
  • Be available to work overtime and additional shifts when required
