Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
  • Pass a background check and clear a drug screen
  • Be able to stand for full duration of the shift
  • Be available to work in 38-degree cold room when necessary
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Willing to pay union dues after 60 days
  • Must be available to work full-time
  • Complete application and orientation process in English
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently and 10+ pounds consistently
  • Bend, stoop, twist repeatedly and stand 8-12 hours a day

Job Qualifications

  • Read, speak and write English
  • Spanish or other languages beneficial
  • Some culinary school or minimum of five years experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • Ability to convert to metric measures using conversion chart
  • Ability to prepare ethnic food items
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and hot areas
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Lead by example to ensure a safe workplace
  • Ability to comprehend verbal and written specifications in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Team player and able to work with diverse team

Job Duties

  • Participate in customer presentations, menu design and implementation
  • Create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch
  • Determine production levels and request proper amount of supplies and food from storeroom
  • Prepare food according to established procedures, recipes, and specifications
  • Interpret and implement HACCP procedures including temperature controls and paperwork
  • Work clean and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Delegate production needs to second cook
  • Assist Executive Chef and Production Chef as needed
  • Prepare food based on predetermined production levels
  • Requisition food products as necessary
