Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- Pass a background check and clear a drug screen
- Be able to stand for full duration of the shift
- Be available to work in 38-degree cold room when necessary
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Willing to pay union dues after 60 days
- Must be available to work full-time
- Complete application and orientation process in English
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently and 10+ pounds consistently
- Bend, stoop, twist repeatedly and stand 8-12 hours a day
Job Qualifications
- Read, speak and write English
- Spanish or other languages beneficial
- Some culinary school or minimum of five years experience in a high-volume kitchen
- Ability to convert to metric measures using conversion chart
- Ability to prepare ethnic food items
- Ability to work in refrigerated and hot areas
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Lead by example to ensure a safe workplace
- Ability to comprehend verbal and written specifications in English
- Basic math skills
- Team player and able to work with diverse team
Job Duties
- Participate in customer presentations, menu design and implementation
- Create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch
- Determine production levels and request proper amount of supplies and food from storeroom
- Prepare food according to established procedures, recipes, and specifications
- Interpret and implement HACCP procedures including temperature controls and paperwork
- Work clean and maintain inventory of supplies
- Delegate production needs to second cook
- Assist Executive Chef and Production Chef as needed
- Prepare food based on predetermined production levels
- Requisition food products as necessary
