Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
  • pass a background check and clear a drug screen
  • able to stand for full duration of the shift
  • available to work in a 38-degree cold room when necessary
  • flexible schedule availability for 24-hour operation, 7 days a week
  • willing to pay union dues after 60 days
  • available to work full-time including weekends and holidays
  • able to complete application and orientation in English
  • able to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently, and 10+ pounds consistently
  • capable of bending, stooping, twisting repeatedly and standing for 8 to 12 hours a day

Job Qualifications

  • Read, speak and write English
  • knowledge of Spanish or other languages beneficial
  • some culinary school education or minimum five years experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • ability to convert to metric measurements using conversion charts
  • ability to prepare ethnic food items where necessary
  • strong leadership and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Participate in customer presentations and menu design implementation
  • create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch
  • determine production levels and request proper amount of supplies and food
  • prepare food according to established recipes and HACCP procedures
  • delegate production needs to second cook and assist Executive and Production Chefs
  • inventory supplies and requisition necessary food products
  • maintain clean and safe working environment
