Job Requirements
- Be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- pass a background check and clear a drug screen
- able to stand for full duration of the shift
- available to work in a 38-degree cold room when necessary
- flexible schedule availability for 24-hour operation, 7 days a week
- willing to pay union dues after 60 days
- available to work full-time including weekends and holidays
- able to complete application and orientation in English
- able to lift 25+ pounds occasionally, 50+ pounds frequently, and 10+ pounds consistently
- capable of bending, stooping, twisting repeatedly and standing for 8 to 12 hours a day
Job Qualifications
- Read, speak and write English
- knowledge of Spanish or other languages beneficial
- some culinary school education or minimum five years experience in a high-volume kitchen
- ability to convert to metric measurements using conversion charts
- ability to prepare ethnic food items where necessary
- strong leadership and teamwork skills
Job Duties
- Participate in customer presentations and menu design implementation
- create sauces, soups, starches, proteins and vegetables from scratch
- determine production levels and request proper amount of supplies and food
- prepare food according to established recipes and HACCP procedures
- delegate production needs to second cook and assist Executive and Production Chefs
- inventory supplies and requisition necessary food products
- maintain clean and safe working environment
