Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
- Two years food preparation experience including one year supervisory experience
- Successful completion of New Mexico Food Handlers course
- Ability to pass stringent background investigation
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Capacity to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physical tasks including crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, talking, and hearing
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors under varying environmental conditions
- Compliance with attendance policy
- Ability to adapt to changing work hours with potential overtime
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years food preparation experience in a restaurant or food service setting
- At least one year supervisory experience
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and banquet menu development
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Ability to write and prepare reports
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Knowledge of banquet event coordination
- Capability to adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Understanding of tribal, federal, state, and local sanitary regulations
Job Duties
- Assist the Sous Chef/Banquet Chef with training line cooks and preparing weekly work schedules
- Ensure kitchen staff adhere to sanitary and safety standards and prepare quality food timely
- Oversee food preparation processes maintaining consistency, quality, and standards
- Collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff to optimize guest service
- Maintain clean and orderly kitchen workstations and storage areas
- Advise on equipment repairs and monitor timely maintenance
- Ensure proper temperature control and completion of temperature logs
- Enforce personnel sanitation standards
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints about food quality and service
- Manage opening and closing of the kitchen as necessary
- Ensure correct food preparation quantities to minimize waste
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Comply with attendance policies and maintain punctual attendance
- Build professional, collaborative relationships with team members
- Foster a respectful and honest workplace culture
