Job Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 38 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive motion tasks
- able to work on feet for up to 3 hours continuously
- experience working in a noisy kitchen environment
- visual alertness to student conduct and potential hazards
- availability to work 5.75 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 10 months
- capability to follow recipes and procedures

- ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Job Qualifications
- Three years or more in the food service industry
- SNA Certification preferred
- demonstrated human relations skills in interacting with principals, staff, students, and the public
- ability to perform food preparation and cooking with various kitchen equipment
- knowledge of Minnesota Food Code and USDA Guidelines
- leadership experience in managing food service staff
- proficiency in computer functions related to food service operations
- strong communication and teamwork abilities
Job Duties
- Demonstrated leadership skills in management of food service staff including collaboration with the Food Service Director on preparation, service, sanitation, and documentation
- understanding and adherence to Minnesota Food Code and USDA Guidelines for School Nutrition
- consistent compliance with district rules and policies
- competent performance in food preparation and cooking using kitchen equipment such as kettles, steamers, mixers, ovens, and choppers
- preparation and cooking of all foods for school and satellite sites
- following recipes and procedures accurately
- supervising assigned staff
- performing mathematical calculations for measurements and servings
- assisting in inventory management
- executing computer functions including point of sale and cash handling
- displaying honesty, courtesy, compassion, and helpfulness
- maintaining dependable attendance and good communication
- complying with supervisor directives
- actively participating in program improvements
- promoting participation through welcoming and supportive customer service
- performing other duties as assigned
