Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certification
- Two years food preparation experience including one year supervisory experience
- Successful completion of New Mexico Food Handlers course
- Ability to pass a stringent background investigation
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Flexibility to handle changing priorities and diverse clientele
- Ability to perform physical activities such as crouching, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, and walking
- Adherence to attendance policy and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certification
- Two years of food preparation experience in a restaurant or food service capacity
- One year of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods
- Skills in menu development and understanding dietary preferences
- Ability to lead, motivate, and delegate tasks effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to write standard reports and documents
- Knowledge of buffet line operations
- Ability to maintain temperature safety of food and drinks
Job Duties
- Assist the Sous Chef/Banquet Chef with training line cooks
- Prepare weekly work schedules and daily break schedules for pantry staff
- Ensure kitchen recipes are followed for food preparation and storeroom requisition
- Oversee food preparation to maintain quality, consistency, and standards
- Ensure sanitary, safe, and productive working conditions
- Assign daily cleaning tasks and maintain kitchen cleanliness
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints and inform Sous Chef/Banquet Chef
- Open and close the kitchen as necessary
- Monitor temperature requirements and complete temperature logs
- Ensure personnel maintain high personal sanitation standards
- Prevent food waste by preparing correct quantities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance as per policy
