Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum six months cook experience in restaurant, hospital or institutional food service using standard equipment
  • Must be able to grill, fry, roast and bake
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Ability to work on call with variable days and hours including every other weekend
  • Compliance with Kaiser Permanente policies and Principles of Responsibility
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior
  • Support compliance initiatives

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum six months cook experience in restaurant, hospital or institutional food service
  • Ability to grill, fry, roast and bake to prepare standard menu items
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow instructions in English
  • Knowledge of hospital food service operations preferred
  • Culinary Arts Degree or AA in Institutional Food Preparation preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare conventional and convenience type food following established procedures
  • Use preparation equipment such as grill, oven, and fryer
  • Maintain sanitation of food service areas and stations
  • Replenish food items as needed
  • Clean and decontaminate patient care and work area stations
  • Sanitize cooking utensils
  • Follow Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable regulations
