Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
  • minimum six months cook experience in a restaurant, hospital or institutional food service
  • ability to grill, fry, roast and bake as needed
  • ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English

Job Qualifications

  • minimum six months cook experience in a restaurant, hospital or institutional food service
  • ability to grill, fry, roast and bake standard menu items
  • demonstrated ability to read, write and follow instructions in English
  • knowledge of hospital food service operations preferred
  • culinary arts degree or AA in institutional food preparation preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare conventional and convenience foods for patients and cafeteria
  • use preparation equipment as necessary
  • maintain sanitation of food service work areas and stations
  • comply with food handling techniques and hygiene standards
  • requisition or procure food supplies according to guidelines
  • clean and decontaminate patient care and work stations
  • sanitize cooking utensils and dispose of waste appropriately
