Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six months cook experience in a restaurant, hospital or institutional food service using standard food service equipment
  • Ability to grill, fry, roast and bake as needed
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Must adhere to Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws
  • Availability to work on-call shifts including days, evenings, and every other weekend

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six months cook experience in a restaurant, hospital, or institutional food service
  • Ability to grill, fry, roast and bake standard menu items
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • Culinary arts degree or AA in institutional food preparation preferred
  • Knowledge of hospital food service operations preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare conventional and convenience type foods for patients and cafeteria following established procedures
  • Use standard food service equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers to cook meals
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of food preparation and service areas
  • Replenish food items as needed throughout the shift
  • Follow department safety and sanitation policies strictly
  • Observe and adhere to food handling techniques and personal hygiene standards
  • Procure or requisition food supplies following established guidelines
