Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum six months cooking experience in food service
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including grill, oven, fryer
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • ability to read and follow instructions in English
  • ability to work flexible on-call schedule
  • commitment to ethical behavior and compliance with organizational policies
  • adherence to confidentiality and privacy standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • minimum six months cook experience in restaurant, hospital, or institutional food service
  • ability to grill, fry, roast, and bake standard menu items
  • ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • preferred degree in culinary arts or AA in institutional food preparation
  • knowledge of hospital food service operations preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare conventional and convenience type foods following established procedures
  • use standard food preparation equipment including grill, oven, and fryer
  • maintain sanitation and cleanliness of food service work areas and stations
  • replenish food supplies as needed according to established guidelines
  • observe food handling and personal hygiene standards in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • follow production sheets and standing orders for tray line, cafeteria, and catering services
  • clean and sanitize cooking utensils and dispose of waste properly
