Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience working at a golf course
  • Membership or progress toward membership in the PGA of America preferred
  • Ability to teach golf
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with POS software and internet dashboards
  • Ability to communicate clearly and prepare reports
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and public
  • Must be able to perform golf instruction
  • Instructional duties compensated separately
  • Experience in managing golf programs and tournaments
  • Ability to operate golf course related equipment
  • Ability to oversee staff and golf shop operations
  • Ability to manage online sales and reservations.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or higher in related field preferred
  • Five years of golf course experience required
  • PGA membership preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with POS software and internet dashboards
  • Ability to teach golf and operate necessary equipment
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain records
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experience in golf tournament administration and customer service.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the Golf Shop, Food & Beverage, and Volunteer staff in rotation with the Head Golf Professional
  • Plan, direct, and supervise golf programs and tournaments, schedule staff, collect fees, coordinate with maintenance, distribute tournament prizes, post scores, officiate play, oversee leagues, and promote the golf course
  • Assist in day-to-day administration of the Clubhouse including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplining staff
  • Manage inventory process, order merchandise, meet sales representatives, manage reservation software and golf course website, create tee sheets, develop sales items, schedule events, maintain customer database, and assist in online sales management
  • Participate in development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Golf Professionals, Instructors, clubhouse staff, and other city departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Handle administrative duties such as fee collection, cash deposits, report preparation, promotional activities, merchandise handling, and maintaining a clean Pro Shop
  • Act as Head Golf Professional in their absence when required
  • Perform related work as assigned.
