Job Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts 2nd class steam fireman's license
- 0 to 3 years of experience with boilers and related auxiliary equipment
- Knowledge of boilers and related systems
- Willingness to work mixed shifts including weekends
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
- Ability to maintain equipment and perform repairs
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Hold a valid Massachusetts 2nd class fireman's license
- Possess 0 to 3 years of experience with boilers and related auxiliary equipment
- Strong knowledge of boiler operation and maintenance
- Ability to perform equipment inspections and safety tests
- Skilled in adjusting controls for steam, cooling and power regulation
- Capable of performing maintenance tasks such as filter and oil changes
- Ability to monitor Building Automation Systems
Job Duties
- Operates the boilers, Combined Heat and Power Unit and related auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet heat, cooling and power needs
- Inspects, records and interprets gauges and meters
- Performs safety and informational tests
- Monitors Building Automation System and notifies appropriate personnel
- Maintains, repairs and cleans equipment including filter and oil changes
- Regulates steam, cooling and power by adjusting controls
- Performs firing operations of boilers and builds steam pressure according to operational demands
