Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Active enrollment in an accredited Paramedic program
- Certification as State of Washington Emergency Medical Service Paramedic upon program completion
- Valid Washington State driver’s license
- Successful completion of Emergency Vehicle Accident Prevention training
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Physical and psychological fitness for duty
- Pass written and CPAT tests
- Submit City of Bremerton application with resume and proof of current enrollment in Paramedic program
- Pass physical examination, psychological evaluation, background check and submit a current driver's abstract
Job Qualifications

- Successful completion and maintenance of Emergency Vehicle Accident Prevention training
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Physical and psychological readiness for firefighter and paramedic duties
Job Duties
- Responds to emergency medical and fire calls using specialized medical protocols and equipment
- Drives emergency vehicles, ambulances, apparatus and boats
- Operates emergency communications devices during call response operations
- Performs emergency fire suppression, rescue operations and first aid
- Maintains readiness of facilities, apparatus, equipment, and supplies
- Conducts inspections, investigations and code enforcement
- Prepares detailed reports and participates in community education programs
