Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Must obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
- Possess State of Florida Certificate of Compliance as a Firefighter obtained no earlier than 1998
- Department of Defense required certifications attained within 12 months of employment
- Successful completion of drug screening
- Participation in direct deposit program
- Provide documentation verifying minimum qualifications
- Good physical condition as determined by annual medical exam
- Nonuser of tobacco products for at least one year prior to application
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Florida Certificate of Compliance as a Firefighter
- Department of Defense certifications including Fire Fighter II, Airport Fire Fighter, HAZMAT Operations, Driver/Operator Pumper, ARFF & Tender
- Completion of DoD Fire Protection School and Career Development Courses or equivalent
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance
- Proficiency in firefighting and rescue techniques
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems and self-contained breathing apparatus
- Strong communication and computer skills
Job Duties
- Respond to emergencies including aircraft, structural, vehicle, and wildland fires
- Provide hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction response
- Conduct aircraft emergency operations including extraction, evacuation, and rescue
- Perform daily inspection and preventative maintenance of firefighting equipment and apparatus
- Conduct fire prevention activities including building inspections and fire drills
- Operate fire alarm control center and manage communication protocols
- Provide emergency medical services as required within individual training limits
