Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of fine dining service experience
  • knowledge of Italian cuisine
  • hotel experience preferred
  • high school diploma preferred
  • must be able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English
  • must have effective communication skills
  • ability to implement and uphold service standards
  • ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • ability to interact with all associates and guests
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • must be able to stand or walk for long periods
  • energetic and enthusiastic individual

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and take orders
  • serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
  • provide meal recommendations and wine pairing suggestions
  • explain ingredients, preparation techniques, and available substitutions
  • communicate with kitchen staff regarding menu questions, wait times, order recooking, and product availability
  • record transactions accurately in the ordering system
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas and dining equipment
  • check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage
  • follow company and Forbes service standards
  • complete closing duties including restocking and securing the area
  • anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • run food and bus tables when extra time is available
  • develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
  • maintain knowledge of liquor brands, beers, glassware, and garnishes specific to the resort
  • adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • communicate effectively with peers, management, and front-of-house personnel
  • ensure proper grooming and uniform standards
  • maintain courteous and professional behavior
  • uphold sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
  • familiarize with hotel services and local attractions
  • thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • perform other job-related duties as assigned
