Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year fine dining serving experience
  • TABC certified before date of hire
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer sales
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to input information into MICROS system
  • Ability to work under pressure with a calm demeanor
  • Ability to work with co-workers effectively
  • Ability to prioritize and organize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Availability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Willingness to perform frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year fine dining serving experience, preferably in a steak house
  • Must be TABC certified before date of hire
  • Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines
  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments

Job Duties

  • Follow, enforce, comply and adhere to all Bob's Steak & Chop House rules, policies, procedures, standards and recipes always
  • Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards
  • Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
  • Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order, and adhere to cash handling standards
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Present accurate check to guest and process payment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • Clean and set up tables
  • Polish and clean the water glasses in his/her assigned station before opening hours
  • Station set-up and breakdown/side-work
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained
