Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time
- ability to lift 15 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- willingness to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed
- must be willing to work in any food and beverage outlet at Promontory when required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- must have or be able to acquire a State of Utah food handler's certification within the first two weeks of employment
- previous hosting experience preferred
- previous experience working with a P.O.S. system preferred
- good written and verbal communication skills
- high attention to detail
- ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- maintain a high level of professionalism
Job Duties
- Greet the members in a friendly and professional manner, open the front door as they arrive, offer to check their coats upon arrival
- organize seating chart and table assignments
- answer phone within 3 rings using a script, always check voicemails upon arrival
- escort members to their tables, pulling their chairs and opening their napkins, hand out menus, cocktail, beer and wine lists, ask them their water preference and communicate their responses to the appropriate server
- maintain cleanliness and neatness of the host or hostess stand
- acknowledge departing members and thank them for their visit and wish them a great night
- work independently and collaboratively, be punctual and well groomed
- ensure menu holders are clean, menus are clean and updated
- follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management, complete safety training and certifications
- other duties as assigned or as required to ensure the guest has a positive and satisfactory dining experience, complete assigned side work prior to starting or ending a shift
