Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking experience especially in scratch cooking
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitary standards
  • willingness to work full-time including weekends
  • physical ability to stand and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Scratch cooking experience (Required)
  • Fine dining and/or Country Club cooking experience (Required)

Job Duties

  • Under general supervision, the Cook primary objective is the preparation of food items to ensure high standard of quality and quantity to meet the needs of the residents for the Residential Living, Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Health Center Dining Room
  • The Cook handles food in accordance with sanitary standards and recognized food preparation standards
  • Full Time, Open Availability includes weekends from 11:30AM - 7:30PM
  • Prepares food, including but not limited to: washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and panning
  • Cooks food including: baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking
  • Operates and cleans all food preparation equipment, including but not limited to: grills, broilers, ovens, steamer tables, mixers, microwave ovens, toasters, etc.
  • Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements
  • Maintains sanitary standards for the handling, transportation, and storage of food
