Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in fine dining or culinary roles
  • Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely
  • Capability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 40 pounds
  • Excellent manual dexterity and sensory skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work full time in Indianapolis, IN
  • Willingness to follow company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience in fine dining or similar culinary environment
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety practices
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and mixers
  • Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food preparation and plating
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely
  • Customer service orientation with professional demeanor
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • Familiarity with inventory and stock rotation procedures

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating kitchen equipment
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by monitoring stock and following labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for preparation
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • May bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
  • May wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment
  • Compile and maintain records of food usage
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
  • Assist culinary staff at various stations as directed
  • Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to supervisor
  • Adhere to company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform, and productivity
  • Provide excellent customer service including being attentive, approachable, and welcoming
  • Perform other duties as assigned
