Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior cooking experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety standards
- ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills and slicers
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- manual dexterity
- good auditory and visual skills
- ability to follow instructions and procedures
- availability to work full-time

Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipment
- ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, tracking old and new items, rotating stock and following labeling procedures
- monitor, cook and prepare foods to determine if they are cooked sufficiently by tasting, smelling or using thermometers
- prepare stations as directed according to company guidelines
- bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods
- season, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables
- carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service
- bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries
- wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils or other cooking equipment
- compile and maintain records of food usage
- assist with inventory
- follow food specification amounts and help in forecasting preparation needs
- prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
- assist culinary staff at various stations as directed
- communicate with supervisors about kitchen equipment and supply needs
- adhere to company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines and productivity
- provide excellent customer service including being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
- perform other duties as assigned
