Job Requirements

  • High school education preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English, and follow written and oral directions
  • Technical or vocational training in Food Service or one year on-the-job training preferred
  • One year of experience cooking in a restaurant or similar food service establishment required

Job Duties

  • Execute a variety of cooking methods including grilling, sautéing, searing, frying, broiling, braising, and stewing
  • Learn and apply modern cooking techniques such as molecular gastronomy
  • Maintain strong plate presentation and precise knife skills
  • Follow menus and recipes accurately with minimal supervision
  • Perform efficiently in a fast-paced à la carte environment
  • Assist with creating daily and seasonal menu items
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef de Cuisine and team regarding station needs
  • Interact professionally with residents and guests in an open-kitchen setting
  • Ensure proper food storage, rotation, sanitation, and daily cleaning
  • Keep all storage areas clean and organized
