Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of bartending experience
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must receive a license or permit from any regulatory agency if applicable
  • Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission License (TABC)
  • Serve-safe certified (Food Handlers)
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs regularly and occasionally over 50lbs
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must attend all required meetings and trainings

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2 years related experience or training or combination
  • Have working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
  • Ability to deal with standard situations and a few concrete variables
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence
  • Basic math skills
  • Outgoing personality and positive attitude
  • Strong knowledge of bar operations and service procedures
  • Ability to handle money and operate a cash register efficiently
  • Ability to stand for up to 5 hours
  • Possess honesty and integrity
  • Good memory for multiple orders
  • Ability to listen, communicate effectively and follow instructions
  • Bilingual skills helpful but not required
  • Ability to interact positively with customers, employees and management
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be flexible
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Fills drink and food orders for customers and wait staff in a timely manner and in the order received
  • Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, garnish, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Serves wine, draft and bottled beer according to company policies
  • Collects payment for drinks and food at the time of sale
  • Maintains accurate liquor, wine and beer cost tracking
  • Enters all products correctly in the POS system
  • Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies daily by completing related paperwork
  • Sets up the bar in line with company procedures
  • Maintains cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas
  • Wipes tables and bar area daily
  • Ties up and disposes of trash bags at end of shift
  • Pours ammonia down drains daily
  • Washes and stores glassware
  • Rolls silverware
  • Replenishes snacks, condiments and coffee during shift
  • Cleans coffee pot and manages coffee grounds
  • Returns dirty dishes to kitchen or rinses them if kitchen is closed
  • Takes accurate inventory at opening and closing shifts
  • Follows cash handling policies
  • Assists customers professionally
  • Supports team and assists other areas when needed
  • Contributes to a friendly and productive work environment
  • Knows and uses job-related equipment properly
  • Observes safety procedures
  • Uses proper protective equipment
  • Uses proper lifting techniques
  • Attends required meetings
  • Reports injuries, unsafe acts and conditions
  • Knows locations of first aid kits, eyewash stations and fire equipment
  • Maintains clean uniform
  • Performs other duties as assigned
